Design Day Camp: Discover What it Means to be a Graphic Designer
This one day hands-on design camp at Kutztown University will introduce sophomore, junior and senior high school students to design as a career and raise awareness of design’s possibilities. The students will explore their creativity and critical thinking abilities, as well as learn how they can impact society through design. Students will learn the creative design process through a hands-on graphic design challenge. The first workshop will show you how to use what you have around the house to create a gig poster keeping in mind visual verbal synergy, hierarchy and other basic design principles. The second workshop will walk attendees through what work to include in their portfolio and how to present it.
KU Visual Arts Programs require a portfolio for first year students. This is a great opportunity to get the ‘inside scoop’ from the Portfolio Committee.
