Art Day Camp: Discover What it Means to be an Artist

This half-day hands-on art camp at Kutztown University will introduce sophomore, junior, and senior high school students to art as a career and raise awareness of art’s possibilities. By understanding the power of visual language, artists can unlock a world of self-expression, social change, creative collaboration, and fulfilling professional careers. Be empowered by art! The first workshop is fabric marbling, the art of floating paints & dyes in a liquid bath, manipulating them into various original patterns, and then transferring the design to textiles. In this workshop, you will create your unique textile artwork with Art Professor Liz Quay. The second workshop will walk students through a hands on egg tempera painting, and more. Open your minds to the third dimension and create various forms that can be functional, sculptural, or both.

Who should attend: sophomore, junior, or senior high school students interested in art as a career path.
