Capstone: Eleanor Anderson | Variant Fairy Tale Literary Analysis & Illustration
Eleanor Anderson is a highly-motivated designer with concentrations in Graphic Design and Illustration. Her favorite part of the design process is being able to look back at every step of development, and see how it blossomed and evolved! Post-graduation, she aims to continue combining illustration and graphic design in thoughtful, conceptual ways wherever she ends up.
The Brothers Grimm fairy tales are often considered the definitive versions, but this misconception overlooks hundreds of historical variants. This bound, illustrated collection of tales and analytical essays includes the Grimm versions of “Little Red Cap,” “Little Snow-White,” “Cinderella,” and “Rapunzel,” and their corresponding variants, “The Story of Grandmother,” “The Crystal Casket,” “Donkey Skin,” and “Petrosinella.” The monotone digital ink and watercolor supplementary illustrations are punctuated with brilliant red, highlighting the violent nature of these tales, while the full-page illustrations dramatically showcase defining scenes throughout the stories.
