Design Day Camp: Discover What it Means to be a Graphic Designer
This half-day hands-on design day camp at Kutztown University will introduce sophomore, junior, and senior high school students to design as a career and raise awareness of design’s possibilities. The students will explore their creativity and critical thinking abilities and learn how they can impact society through design. Students will learn the creative design process through hands-on graphic design challenges. The first workshop will show students how to use what they have around the house to create a social media graphic by considering visual-verbal synergy, hierarchy, and other design principles. The second workshop will walk students through the design process of sketching, illustrating, and printing to create an original design. Prof. Doll-Myers and Prof. McFeely will lead students through the two workshops.
Who should attend: sophomore, junior, or senior high school students interested in graphic design as a career path.
