Al Bronakowski, 2016

He is not a typical designer. Al Bronakowski bachelor’s degree is in Civil Engineering, but after several years as a consultant he decided to go to graduate school for Communication Design with a concentration in Interactive Design.

He combine my engineering background with my design skills whenever he can to create unique interactive experiences that go beyond the screen. Al is a firm believer that adding physical components to projects makes them more relatable, fun, and even magical.

Juss DiSciullo, 2017

Mononymous refers to an individual who is known and addressed by a single name, like Madonna or Cher. The mysterious being of “Juss” is a letterpress obsessed, hand-lettering enthusiastic, graphic designer. She has been working in the design industry since 2011 after receiving her BFA in graphic design from Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. In 2017, she graduated from Kutztown University with an MFA in communication design. At this time, she truly discovered her passion for lettering and letterpress. When not glued to her computer researching typefaces or vacuuming job cases, Juss enjoys short walks to the taco stand and frozen margaritas. Other guilty pleasures of hers include listening to Johnny Cash records and cuddling with Grizzly, the German Shepherd.

I’m Kalyn, a passionate graphic designer with a love for color, pattern and beautiful typography. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from Susquehanna University and gaining some work experience, I decided to pursue my dream of being a graphic designer.

I now hold an MFA in Communication Design from Kutztown University and am thrilled to be doing what I love every day.

I’ve also been designing handmade greeting cards since 2008 and have had over 300 projects published in various print and online hobbyist publications such as Paper Crafts magazine, Scrapbook & Cards Today, CARDS, Scrapbook Trends and more.

Rachel Yoder, 2018

Rachel Yoder received her BS in Art Education from Tyler School of Art in 2011. Feeling lost in the education system, she left her teaching job in Philadelphia and began her MFA studies at Kutztown in 2015. Raising three young children while earning her MFA, she felt the program at Kutztown really helped her find her voice as an illustrator and designer, while being a very flexible program that worked for her family. She received her MFA in Communication Design at Kutztown University in May 2018. She is an active folk artist in Berks County and after beginning her MFA studies at Kutztown found a deep love for surface pattern design using folk art techniques. She also developed a unique illustration style while at Kutztown and went on to illustrate two children’s books, Penny Olive and Davey Applebutter. This year 24 of her illustrations will be featured in Asseba und Sabina, a book that will be published by the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center at Kutztown University.

Yoder is currently transforming her MFA Thesis paper into a book about the history of Pennsylvania Dutch Design. It will be available Summer 2019 from The History Press.
